12-year-old Pennsylvania girl Fatally shot During her Family’s Eviction

On Tuesday Jan. 12th, Pennsylvania State Constable Clarke Steele showed up at the Pfautz Apartments in Penn Township with an eviction order for Donald Meyer and his family. Meyer, who more than likely was upset at the thought of his family losing their home, exchanged words with the constable. He then pointed a loaded .223 caliber rifle at Steele. According to police the weapon had been concealed. With Meyer's weapon pointed at his chest, Constable Steele unholstered his .40 caliber handgun and fired a single fatal shot. A shot that passed straight through Donald Meyer and struck his 12 year old daughter, Ciara Meyer, ending the girl's life. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her father was taken to a hospital and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, and reckless endangerment.
